Most distro's have something similar you can find easily by searching for it. If i click the terminal button that corresponds to this actions: Now the Terminal just wont show, just nothing happens. It is generally good practise to keep both system and user-installed programs up to date. I just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.1 and having some issues opening Terminal from Double Commander. A lot of these dependencies gets updated often automaticly when you update your system. For my distro it would look like this This package ONLY works on arch and arch derivatives, but it is just to give you insights in what dependencies your program has, what libraries and modules it needs to be able to run properly. Even if you are the only user on your system it is (my opinion) better to install system wide for various reasons. Right now it only lives inside your home directory. ![]() ![]() This also means that you get your program installed system wide, so other users can use it. AND how much easier this is just using the package manager or a helper program. If you have acces to their release history with login, try go check how many times a year they send out bug/security fixes and updates and you'll get an idea on how often you should download the new version. Installing them this way instead, makes it a lot easier to update the program just with your regular package manager. You usually find them in user repositories. ![]() Sometimes the spedific distro have programs like this already in a package that will set up all this correct, install program in prefered place, put man pages in the right places, make the right paths, create links and shortcuts.
